Module 1 of the LEED course provided invaluable insights into early childhood development, emphasizing the pivotal role of the environment and significant adults. It equipped me with the knowledge to understand the predictable sequence of child development, enabling me to plan effective learning experiences and educate both teachers and parents. Despite managing various responsibilities, completing this module has been gratifying. These foundational concepts are essential for effective teaching in the early years, and as a school administrator, I am better equipped to plan successful learning experiences in the early years and educate stakeholders.

Studying the Leading Early Education and Development (LEED) course has been both engaging and demanding. The assignments at the end of each module are particularly challenging, requiring substantial critical thinking and classroom analysis. Despite this, completing these tasks significantly enhances my confidence in grasping the module’s content. They serve as a useful tool for summarizing key points and guiding my application of knowledge in the classroom. The assignments in LEED help maintain my focus and provide clear progression markers. For example, crafting my teaching philosophy, a novel undertaking, was facilitated by course materials and videos. This philosophy will be instrumental in shaping my approach as an early years educator. The feedback I receive, especially the comprehensive analysis on my dashboard, acts as a cumulative portfolio.

The LEED course has truly transformed my skills as an early years educator. It’s been invaluable for my supervisory role, allowing me to reflect on my practices and make more informed decisions. Surprisingly, it even helped me develop a behavioural management policy for my school, something I hadn’t considered before. I’ve used its insights to train other teachers, especially Module 1, which provided a wealth of ideas. Though demanding, the rewards far surpass the challenges. Overall, it’s been a complete package, enriching my understanding of education and proving to be a fantastic investment in my professional growth.

During the training, we employed several strategies to enhance learning, and one that stood out for me was collaboration with colleagues. As fondly called “Mama Bear.” your approach to collaboration encouraged us to work together on various tasks and activities, promoting the free exchange of knowledge, idea sharing and fostering a strong team spirit. Additionally, it provided an excellent networking opportunity because of its result-oriented nature. The collaborative efforts with my colleagues pushed me to achieve tasks effectively. Moreover, it significantly contributed to the development of my teamwork skills and ability to work harmoniously with others.
